HOUSTON, TX – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team dropped 0-4 on the road against the University of Houston, in the first of its two American Athletic Conference road matches this week in Texas.
The match, originally scheduled for first serve at 11 a.m. was moved up to 10 a.m. due to inclement weather in the Houston area Tuesday morning. The early morning match was met with an indefinite rain delay and was postponed to 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon where it was then relocated to the Cougars (8-3, 2-1 AAC) indoor tennis facility.
THE BREAKDOWN
Cincinnati (2-6, 0-2 AAC) dropped the early doubles point finishing two of its three matches. The Cougars then secured the final three singles points, awarding them the 4-0 win and the early match finish.

She was steadfast containing her momentum going into the third set where held a 1-1 tie with SMU's Phonexay Chitdara before the singles matchup ended early after SMU secured the 4-0 win.
Maria Santilli's matchup also recorded as 'Unfinished', but not before securing an impressive (6-4) first set victory. Santilli powered through four in the second set with the Mustang's Sophie Gerits. The second set wrapped up in 4-4 with an Unfinished marking in the books.
TOTH ON THE MATCH
"You are never happy with a loss, but we had a lot of really good performances today. Houston is having a good year and is really tough up and down their lineup. Something to build on for sure before we line up against SMU on Thursday."
