CINCINNATI - The No. 4 seeded University of Cincinnati lacrosse team squares off with No. 1 seeded Florida on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. ET in the first of two AAC Championship semifinals at Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville. Temple and Vanderbilt will play in the tournament's second semifinal, 45 minutes after UC and UF finish out. All games air on ESPN+.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?
  • UC will play in its second-straight AAC Championship after hosting the event in 2019 and making the final vs. Florida.
  • The Bearcats and Gators met twice this year in Gainesville with UF winning both games, 20-3 and 19-5, respectively.
  • The semifinal winners meet at noon ET on Sunday.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Cincinnati (7-9) split the final weekend of the regular season at East Carolina, dropping a close match on Friday, 12-11, and winning Sunday's contest late, 14-13. 
BEARCATS GARNER ALL-AAC HONORS
  • Four UC Lacrosse players earned All-American Athletic Conference honors as the league announced its 2021 postseason awards Wednesday.
  • Alyssa Adams, A Monica Borzillo and M Sam Mlkvy were named First-Team All-AAC while D Morgan Dukes earned second-team honors. 
  • Borzillo becomes the first four-time all-league honoree in school history, collecting First-Team All-AAC awards in 2019 and 2021 and Second-Team All-BIG EAST Conference accolades in 2017 and 2018.
  • Dukes and Mlkvy earned their second All-AAC awards. Both were first-team selections in 2019.

A FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATICS
  • UC waited about as long as it could to clinch its spot in the AAC Championship with Anna Platou netting a game winner on a feed from Peyton Mottice with 24 seconds left, capping a 14-13 come-from-behind win ECU on April 25. 
  • Platou's goal capped off a three-goal rally which started with the Bearcats trailing 13-11 with 6:50 remaining.

LIGHTING THE LAMP
  • UC has seven players with double-digit goals and three with 30 or more tallies, led by Monica Borzillo (36), Alyssa Adams (35) and Kylie Nause (30). 
  • Borzillo's 24 assists are the most on the team.
  • UC averages 11.9 goals per game.
 
ON THE DRAW
  • Sam Mlkvy (81) and Adams (60) have combined for 141 of UC's 232 draw controls on the season. 
 
WE ARE FAMILY
  • UC has three sets of siblings on the team, including the Fess triplets (Adrianna, Alexandra, Amanda) and the Finotti (Jennie & Sophia) and Mlkvy (Dani & Sam) sisters.
