CINCINNATI - All 11 members of the University of Cincinnati tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Scholar accolades for the 2020-21 season, along with earning All-Academic Team honors after posting a combined 3.941 Spring term GPA.
"Despite all of the challenges our girls faced during the past year, our girls were still sensational in the classroom," said head coach Eric Toth. "There cannot be many programs around earning the highest academic recognition from their conference, the ITA and boasting a 3.9 team GPA. These achievements are something our program takes a lot of pride in."
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
The recognition follows the 2020-21 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Team Academic Excellence Award, which the tennis team has earned for the third straight year.
