THE RUNDOWN
Cincinnati's offensive groove continued in Memphis Sunday, but the Tigers' home-court advantage was the difference in an 87-80 defeat. The Bearcats sank a FedExForum-collegiate record 16 threes, tying for fourth in school history. UC is 27-for-59 from deep (45.8 percent) the last two games, its most makes since in such a span since Dec. 21-23, 2011.

Jeremiah Davenport battled early foul trouble to make his first seven deep attempts (most since Sean Kilpatrick's eight in 2012), that also marked his second 20-point game of the year, now leading the team with 13.1 ppg. Mika Adams-Woods and David DeJulius each had 15 points and six assists, with Adams-Woods regaining the national lead in assist-turnover ratio (4.83). John Newman III, who has been an elite perimeter defender all season, has also gone 5-for-10 from deep with 12.0 ppg over the last pair of contests, marking two of his three double-figure scoring games this year.

UC ranks 14th in field-goal defense (37.6 percent), 17th in turnovers committed (10.1 per game), 22nd in assist-turnover ratio (1.46), and 38th in scoring defense (62.2 ppg). UC's three-point shooting in AAC play is 38.1 percent (tied for second with ECU), up from 29.3 in non-conference. The Bearcats are also playing their league-leading 12th home game, sporting a 9-2 record.

SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati leads the all-time series 15-2, including an 8-2 mark in AAC play. The Bearcats are also 8-0 at home. ECU went 4-0 against Wes Miller while he was at UNCG, but all of them predated Joe Dooley's tenure which began in the 2018-19 season. The two teams met just once last year, an 82-69 Bearcat win on March 7. Davenport and Mason Madsen (career-high) scored 19 points apiece. It was one of Madsen's three double-figure scoring games in his two years at UC.
