Bearcats Set for Trip to Louisville

CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati tennis team is back on the road when they they head to Louisville to compete against the Cardinals on Friday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati tennis team is back on the road when they they head to Louisville to compete against the Cardinals on Friday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. 
 
The Bearcats are 0-1 overall following a 5-2 loss at Purdue last week. This is the first match of the 2022 season for the Cardinals. 

SERIES HISTORY:
The Bearcats are 6-23 all-time when facing the Cardinals. The last matchup for the two teams was back on January 27, 2019. The Bearcats fought hard but fell to Louisville 5-2. 
 
WHAT WE GOT:
On the singles side, Ioana Guna and Maria Santilli are both coming off wins against Purdue and are hoping to do the same this Friday. Guna is 5-11 overall this season and Santilli is 6-7.
 
On the doubles side, the teams are looking to come in hot this week to grab some wins for the Bearcats. Doubles pair Emma Miceli and Kelli Niehaus are 7-6 overall.
 
WHAT WE'RE AGAINST:
Cardinal players Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma began the season ranked No. 31 in doubles pairs in the initial Intercollegiate Tennis Association. 
 
Verma recorded a team-high of 14 singles wins as a redshirt junior. Graduate student Raven Neely is a huge component for the Cardinals. She is 12-10 overall for singles and 9-8 overall for doubles.
