TicketsDAYTON, Ohio. – The University of Cincinnati tennis team swept Dayton 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the South Regency Tennis Center. Cincinnati improves to 1-2 on the season.
Doubles play got the Bearcats started off strong with all three doubles teams defeating Dayton to earn the first doubles point of the season. Cassie McLay and Elizabeth Pendergast improve to 2-1 in doubles while the duos of Ioana Guna/Emma Miceli and Callie Flanagan/Kelli Niehaus earned their first win and both improve to 1-2.
Emma Miceli (2-1) earned her second straight singles win defeating Paige Kompa in two sets, her first win of the season in the No. 4 spot. Ioana Guna (2-1) picked up her second win after going to the third set with Erica Wojcikiewixz. Elizabeth Pendergast, Cassie McLay, and Callie Flanagan all earned their first singles win of the season and improve to 1-2. Kelli Niehaus (1-0) played in her first singles mach of the spring season in the No. 5 spot on Sunday.

This team batllted some adversity this weekend and I am so happy how they have rallied around one another and competed over the last two matches.
