CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team returns home to face in-state rival Miami (OH) at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Western Athletic Club.
The Bearcats originally had a Friday-Saturday double-header scheduled until the Friday match against IUPUI was rescheduled for March 20.
SERIES HISTORY
These two teams last met on Feb. 27, 2021, when Miami (OH) won 4-3 to improve its series lead to 10-5.
The last Bearcat victory came in 2019 when redshirt senior Emma Miceli took victories in doubles and singles and redshirt junior Maria Santilli won in straight sets in her singles match.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats clinched a weekend series sweep over Cleveland State and Toledo last time out.
Redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehaus, freshman Callie Flanagan and freshman Elizabeth Pendergast all secured wins in singles and doubles for a 6-1 team win against Cleveland State.
Miceli and Niehaus were dominant in their singles and doubles wins over Toledo which lifted the Bearcats to a 4-3 win over Toledo.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Miami (OH) improved to 5-3 on the season with a win against Harvard University in Evanston, Ill. on Monday.
After a slow start, the RedHawks rebounded and won four of the six singles matches to secure the victory.

Head coach Eric Toth is sitting on 77 career wins as the Bearcats' head coach and is currently two wins away from second place Marty Wolf's 79 career wins.
