CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team won, 4-3, against Miami University on Saturday afternoon at the Western Athletic Club.
The Bearcats record improves to 5-3 and the RedHawks move to 5-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In their first doubles pairing of the season, redshirt senior Ioana Guna and redshirt senior Emma Miceli rolled to a 6-2 victory and redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehaus and redshirt junior Maria Santilli repeated the trick and helped UC capture the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
The Bearcats captured three of six singles matches for the win with Niehaus winning 7-5, 6-0 on Court 6 and Santilli grabbing a 6-2, 7-5 Court 3 win.
After Miami tied the match by winning on Courts 1, 2 and 4, freshman Callie Flanagan picked up a dramatic 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 three-set win on Court 5 to seal the victory for Cincinnati.

Head Coach Eric Toth's moved his career win total to 78 this afternoon and sits one win away from tying Marty Wolf for second in school history with 79.
