FORT WORTH, Texas -- University of Cincinnati senior men's basketball guard David DeJulius earned Third-Team All-AAC honors, as announced by the league Wednesday.
DeJulius led the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and free-throw percentage (82.2 percent, sixth in the AAC), energizing the team on both ends of the floor. The Detroit native produced nine, 20-point games, including six in AAC play. He accomplished the feat three-straight times, the first since Jarron Cumberland in 2018-19, doing so against No. 14 Houston, South Florida and Tulsa.
DeJulius is sixth in AAC-play with 15.6 ppg and eighth at 41.7 percent shooting. His 12-for-12 mark at the foul line marked one of six perfect instances in school history on a dozen or more makes, as well as the first since Sean Kilpatrick against Iowa State in 2012. It also remains the best-such game of any AAC player for the whole year.
The most-notable element of DeJulius' season has been his improvements from last year, namely his improvements in field-goal percentage (plus-5.5 percent), three-pointers (10.6 percent), free-throws (4.7 percent) and scoring (5.4 ppg).
He is the 11th Bearcat to earn All-League distinction since the AAC began in 2014, as well as the 86th All-Conference performer in school history. Keith Williams was on the Second Team last year, with Cumberland and Tre Scott making the First Team in 2020.
Cincinnati opens AAC Championships play Thursday at 1 p.m. ET against East Carolina.
