TicketsCINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team secured its eighth-straight win against Holy Cross (Ind.) at the Western Athletic Club Saturday. This was the Bearcats' second win of the day.
The Bearcats got the match started by sweeping the doubles point. Freshman Elizabeth Pendergast and freshman Callie Flanagan got the job done with a 6-0 win on court one while the duo of redshirt junior Maria Santilli and redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehaus got another win, 6-2, on court two.
To wrap up doubles, sophomore Hayley Hirsch and sophomore Sanjana Reddy won in dominant fashion by the score of 6-1.
The Bearcats then went on to win all six of their singles matches.
Redshirt senior Emma Miceli, Niehaus and Flanagan all won 6-0, 6-0. Pendergast was able to win 6-1, 6-1.
Redshirt sophomore Sofia Bruno and Hirsch got in on the winning as well, as Bruno was able to win 6-0, 6-1, and Hirsch won, 6-0, 6-2.

"I was very happy," said head coach Eric Toth. "Everybody did a great job today and it was great to get Hayley Hirsch and Sanjana Reddy and Sofia Bruno in. They do a great job at practice everyday and it's great for them to get some wins. This group's done a great job, day in and day out. We've had some really tough matches during this winning-streak and we were fortunate to get through several of them. These girls deserve it right now, but we've got a lot of season to go."
"Getting the win at a double header is always good, it makes you feel pretty confident," said freshman Callie Flanagan. "We're halfway through the season, so getting eight wins in a row says a lot about how the team is this year and how deep, tough and gritty we've been."
