Track and Field Hosts Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at Gettler Stadium this Weekend

The University of Cincinnati track and field teams will host the only home meet of the year, the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, on Friday, April 1 at Coy Field and Saturday, April 2 at Gettler Stadium.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati track and field teams will host the only home meet of the year, the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, on Friday, April 1 at Coy Field and Saturday, April 2 at Gettler Stadium.    
 
MEET SCHEDULE
Friday will consist of throwing events at Coy Field and Saturday will consist of running, jumping, and throwing events at Gettler Stadium. 
 
Competition begins on Friday at 10 a.m. with the men's javelin throw. It will conclude Friday at 4:15 p.m. following the end of women's hammer throw. Competition will resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the men's discus throw. The final event of the day, the women's 10k, will begin at 6:45 p.m.
 
A senior recognition ceremony will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday prior to the start of the running events.

HOW TO WATCH/STAY TUNED
Spectators are welcome at the meet both Friday and Saturday. On Friday, parking will be free in residential areas surrounding Coy Field. On Saturday, parking will be $5 in Calhoun Garage next to Gettler Stadium.

WHERE WE LEFT OFF
UC Track and field has competed in two outdoor meets and already broken four school records. These records belong to Chris Borzor in the 100-meter dash, Ellie Leather in the 1,500-meter run, Maddie Walker in the 10k run and Tyler Wirth in the 1,500-meter run. All four of these athletes will be competing at home this weekend.
 
WHAT TO EXPECT
There will be 18 teams attending the meet. All events will be run as finals with heats seeded fastest first.
