CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to Huntington, West Virginia to face-off against Middle Tennessee on April 2 and Marshall University on April 3. Both matches will start at 10 a.m.
SERIES HISTORY
The Bearcats are 1-1 all-time against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Last time out on Feb. 14, 2020, the Bearcats battled to a 4-3 victory over the Raiders. After earning the doubles point, redshirt junior Maria Santilli, redshirt senior Ioana Guna, and redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehuas all earned singles victories to secure the win.
The Bearcats are 3-21 all-time against the Herd, winning the last two matchups. Last time out on April 11, 2021, the Bearcats' won 4-3 on the road in Huntington. After earning the doubles point, redshirt sophomores Cassie McLay and Niehaus earned their singles victories to lead to a 3-3 tie heading into Guna's deciding matchup. Guna rallied after a dominating performance by Smith took the first set 6-1. Guna nipped out a 6-7(3) second set bringing it down to a final third set decision, where she was able to grind out a 7-6(7) victory for the Bearcats.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
- The Bearcats are coming off a 7-0 sweep over NKU on senior day and are now 13-4 overall on the season.
- Redshirt seniors Ioana Guna and Emma Miceli earned a doubles win and both earned singles wins, improving to 7-8 and 12-4, respectively.
- Redshirt sophomore rebounded back after her first singles loss of the season in singles against Xavier to win on court six decisively, 6-1 and 6-1. She is now 11-1 in singles and also 13-2 in doubles for the Spring.
- Redshirt junior Maria Santilli improved to 10-4 on the season following her win on court four over NKU.
- Cincinnati went on an 11-match win streak during the season, marking the longest win streak in program history.
- Middle Tennessee is 9-10 overall on the season and 1-3 in Conference USA play.
- This weekend will be the Blue Raiders first match since March 10 when the team took a 7-0 loss to Tulane on the road.
- Senior Lee Barnard has lost her last four matches at No. 1. In doubles, Lee has won four of her last six matches paired with Noelle Mauro.
- Love-Star Alexis has won four of her last seven singles and four of her last six doubles matches, both on court No. 3 primarily.
- Senior Zani Barnard is 7-2 in her last 10 singles matchups heading into this weekend, she currently sits at 9-8 on the season.
- Marshall is 10-9 overall on the season with a 4-3 record at home. They have currently won three-straight contests against Miami (OH), UNLV, and UTSA.
- Last time out, they recorded a 4-1 win over the UTSA Road Runners.
- The No. 67 doubles pair Emma Vanderheyden and Liz Stefancic are coming off a weekend where they went 1-1 in doubles play.
- Liz Stefancic went 2-0 on the weekend over UNLV and UTSA
