CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati tennis team finished its strong 2022 season with the No. 9 spot in the ITA's Ohio Valley Region, its first appearance in the final rankings since 2017.
UC's 16-7 record featured a school-record 11-match win streak, which also included a 4-3 road win at fellow top-10 foe Indiana. The Bearcats, who concluded their eighth season under head coach Eric Toth, produced their most wins since a 17-7 mark in 2017.
Kelli Niehaus led the squad with a 15-3 singles mark, followed by Emma Miceli at 14-5. Niehaus and Callie Flanagan were the top doubles tandem as well, going 13-4. Miceli was also recently named to both the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and the ITA's Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award recipient, while Elizabeth Pendergast earned a spot on the AAC's All-Conference team.
