CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team will host the UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational this weekend at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
"It will be great to be back on our home courts this weekend, we have a great facility and the support here is phenomenal," head coach Eric Toth said. "We are excited to welcome three talented teams as we continue our fall season."
Cincinnati will welcome Miami (OH), Purdue and Xavier for the annual event on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30 – Oct. 1. Following a hidden dual format, the Bearcats will face each team in doubles and singles competition.
The annual fall invitational was renamed by Toth in 2018 after the passing of former Bearcat standout Pam Whitehead. Whitehead remains the program leader in doubles victories in a single season with 25, second in career doubles victories with 69 and stands fourth with 127 career combined wins.
Cincinnati will open doubles competition with matches against Miami (OH) and Xavier, starting at 12 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will also battle with Purdue in singles at 2:45 p.m. to conclude the first day of action.
Action resumes Saturday when Cincinnati takes on Purdue in doubles at 10 a.m. The Bearcats will close out their home event with two singles matches, first taking on Miami (OH) at 11:30 a.m. before facing Xavier at 2:30 p.m.
