CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team will continue its homestand when the Bearcats host conference-foe Memphis and crosstown rival Xavier this weekend.
Cincinnati will take on Memphis inside Western Athletic Club on Friday at 11 a.m. ET. The location and time for the Xavier match on Sunday is still to be determined based on weather conditions.
Admission is free and the fans who are not in attendance can follow live results through the statistics link attached above.
Cincinnati is 3-1 at home and currently on a three-match home winning streak this season. The Bearcats have won nine of their last 11 home matches dating back to last season.
The six match homestand is the longest of the season and the longest under head coach Eric Toth.
Cincinnati looks to maintain momentum from a 7-0 sweep over Dayton on Wednesday. The Bearcats enter the weekend 5-9 overall, 0-1 in the AAC. Sophomore Elizabeth Pendergast has won three of her last four matches at the top singles position.
Memphis heads into the weekend 4-11 overall, 2-0 in the AAC. Sophomore Emily Meyer has compiled a team-high seven singles victories, while the Tigers' tandem of Meyer and senior Aran Teixido Garcia have combined for a 7-6 overall record from the top doubles court.
Xavier enters the weekend 7-5 overall. Freshman Abby Nugent leads the Musketeers with an 8-3 singles record and is currently on a four-match win streak. Nugent and redshirt junior Kat Lyman have teamed up to post a team-best 7-2 doubles record at the top position.
Following the pair of weekend matches, Cincinnati will be back in action when it welcomes Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, March 29 at 3 p.m. ET.
