CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team closes out the regular season with a pair of road matches in Tulsa this weekend.
Cincinnati takes on Oral Roberts at Bernis Duke Tennis Center at 11 a.m. ET on Friday before facing conference opponent Tulsa at Michael D. Case Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Cincinnati is 7-12 overall, 0-3 in the AAC on the season. Cincinnati opened the final month of the season with a 5-2 Senior Day win DePaul on April 1. Redshirt junior Kelli Niehaus leads the team with a 9-7 singles record, while the doubles tandem of sophomore Callie Flanagan and redshirt junior Cassie McLay have complied a team-best 7-3 record from the top position.
Oral Roberts comes into the match 5-10 overall, 2-2 in the Summit League. The Golden Eagles have won three of their last four matches and are 4-4 at home this season. Sophomore Luna Morini earned Summit League Women's Peak Performer of the Week honors after collecting a pair of doubles and singles victories last week.
Tulsa enters the weekend 11-8 overall, 2-1 in the AAC. The Golden Hurricane are 6-1 at home this season. Tulsa hosts Denver on Friday before taking on Cincinnati on Saturday. Sophomore Maria Berlanga Bandera and senior Laia Conde Monfort lead the team with double digit singles wins, while Berlanga and sophomore classmate Lily Hutchings have posted a team-best 11-5 record from the top position.
Cincinnati opens postseason competition with the American Athletic Conference Championships from April 19-22 at UTSA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.
