TicketsCINCINNATI— University of Cincinnati senior Fred Moudani-Likibi was named the 2023 American Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Most Outstanding Performer, announced by the conference on Thursday.
This honor is awarded to the athlete that finishes highest on NCAA performance lists prior to the NCAA Championship. In the shot put event, Moudani-Likibi's 20.03m (65'8.75") is ranked 11th in the nation and fourth in the NCAA East Region.
The Savigny-Le-Temple, France native's throw broke his own UC outdoor shot put record as he now holds both the indoor and outdoor program records. This season he broke the outdoor record on three separate occasions.
Moudani-Likibi joins former Bearcats Adrian Valles (2015) and Macklin Tudor (2017) as the only Bearcats to earn the distinction since Cincinnati joined the conference in 2014.
The senior has racked up the hardware this year. In addition to earning this award, he was named AAC Athlete of the Week twice throughout the season, including during the week of May 2, when he recorded his season-best mark. He also claimed the AAC shot put conference title last week at the outdoor championships.
