Men's Golf Wraps Play in Tennessee

LOUDON, Tenn. -- The Cincinnati men's golf team improved its score in each round for the second-straight tournament to begin the season, this time finishing eighth at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate.

Rylan Wotherspoon tied for 12th with a 2-under 208, while Connor McNeely and Ryan Ford each had a 2-under 68 for No. 32 and 42, respectively. It was a season-low for Ford, the AAC Freshman of the Year last season. Each had five birdies.

UC's 1-under 279 was its best of the season.

Host Tennessee claimed the title by one stroke, even with Ole Miss having a 15-stroke comeback to barely fall short.

Cincinnati next plays its annual Bearcat Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19, at Coldstream Country Club.
