CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati men's golf program is eager for its lone home event of the season, the Bearcat Invitational, which takes place Monday and Tuesday from Coldstream Country Club.

Both days begin at 9 a.m. with shotgun starts. Admission is open as well. Live scoring is available here.

"First of all, it's great to be home," head coach Doug Martin said. "Any chance you get to have a home event and showcase your facility, which in my opinion is one of the best golf courses a college program can have, is a very fortunate one."

Participating teams include Arkansas State, BYU, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, Jacksonville, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Nebraska, Sam Houston, Southern Miss, UNC Greensboro, UCF and Virginia Tech.

UC will also have two of its own teams present. The first features the same starting five as the first two events: Ty Gingerich, William McDonald, Connor McNeely, Rylan Wotherspoon and Ryan Ford

The second includes Cole Imig, Jackson Finney, Chris Harpum, Harrison Sims and McKean Collins. The former four are all making their UC debuts. Imig is a sophomore UAB transfer, while Finney, Harpum and Sims are all sophomores as well. Collins saw action as an individual in the Marquette and Tennessee events this month.

Wotherspoon and McNeely each have a team-low 72.00 stroke average through the two tournaments. McNeely's 67 to close his debut in Wisconsin is the best round for an individual this season. As a team, UC has finished fifth and eighth, improving its score round-over-round in each of those outings.

"The message is after the first two weeks is that we have to continue to clean up our unforced errors," Martin said. "We had too many the first two weeks, and two things our program has prided itself on is playing smart and playing consistent with execution. We have done a poor job at that the first two weeks, and that's something we want to clean up before we start on Monday."
