CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati men's golf team is set for its fall finale when it begins the Quail Valley Collegiate on Sunday in Vero Beach, Fla.
The two-day event, hosted by Michigan State, features an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Sunday, followed by tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday on Holes 1 and 10.
Participating teams include FAU, Indiana, Kent State, Liberty, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Florida, Northern Illinois, Penn State, Rutgers, South Florida, Toledo, UNC-Greensboro.
Ryan Ford, Connor McNeely, William McDonald, Rylan Wotherspoon and Ty Gingerich comprise the scorecard for the Bearcats.
This is an event of fond memories for the Bearcats, breaking school records of 34-under and an 830 for the event, including improving their score in each round. Gingerich led the way by finishing ninth for his fourth consecutive top-10 finish. Wotherspoon and McDonald were there as well and will have valuable experience coming in.
Cincinnati is coming off two wins in Big 12 Match Play in Houston to finish seventh. The Bearcats defeated 2023 NCAA Tournament teams Kansas State and TCU along the way, with McDonald and Ryan Ford each winning three of their contests to pace the squad. McNeely's 70.78 stroke average remains in the team lead.
