The University of Cincinnati fell 1-0 to UCF in the team's final home game of the season on Sunday inside Gettler Stadium.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati fell 1-0 to UCF in the team's final home game of the season on Sunday inside Gettler Stadium.
 
The Bearcats moved to 3-7-6 (2-3-4) on the year, while UCF improved 9-5-1 (5-3-1).
 
Cincinnati brought the offensive pressure right off the first touch and spent of the match playing in the attacking third. The Bearcats outshot the UCF 13-8 and drew more corner kicks, finishing with seven.
 
The once-AAC opponents showed no love was lost now teams are in Big 12 this season as both teams combined for 22 fouls with UCF being responsible for 17. Cincinnati drew more yellow cards, tailing three to the Knights to two.

Despite the offensive numbers and numerous chances, Cincinnati couldn't find the back of the net. UCF's goalkeeper, Carolina DeLisle finished the game with four saves.
 
UCF's Kaite Bradley scored the match-deciding goal off a penalty shot in the 15th minute after she was fouled inside the box by UC's Ashley Barron.
 
Outside of allowing the one penalty goal, Cincinnati goalkeeper Anna Rexford was a brick wall in between the post for the remainder of the game.  She recorded four saves bringing her season total to 59, the most saves in a season in her career.
 
Eleven seniors were honored at the conclusion of the match: Teni Akindoju, Vyviene Spaulding, Chloe Spitler, Lauren Bastian, Elizabeth Fortuna, Sydney Waiters, Kendall Battle, Mackenzie Tucker, Ashley Barron, Ellie Flower and Anna Rexford. Cincinnati will head to Morgantown, W. Va. for the team's final match of the regular season against West Virginia on Monday, Oct. 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ / Big 12 Now.
 
The Bearcats are currently 10th in the Big 12 standings and hold the last qualifying spot of the Big 12 championship tournament. The first round of the tournament will begin on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Round Rock, Texas.
