VERO BEACH, Fla. -- Connor McNeely notched his second-straight top-10 finish, and the Cincinnati men's golf team came in fifth for its final fall tournament at the Quail Valley Collegiate.

McNeely, who led the Bearcats by finishing ninth, was second in the Bearcat Invitational and also 11th in the first event in Wisconsin. He had six birdies in each of his three rounds.

Cincinnati's 20-under was its best of the season by 20 strokes.

"We got off to a great start today, as the wind picked up we didn't handle the change of conditions very well," head coach Doug Martin said. "Congrats to Connor McNeely and Ryan Ford on solid performances this week. The fall season is now complete, and we must get better as a group in the offseason. We have to raise the bar and be ready to compete again in March."

Ford's No. 19 ranking was his highest of the season, holding steady after his 68 in Sunday's first round matched a season-low.

UC had three top-five finishes out of its four stroke-play events this fall to go with the Kansas State and TCU wins in Big 12 match play earlier in the week, both NCAA Tourney teams this past spring.

Cincinnati's spring debut is in another Michigan State event, this time at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C., from March 4-5.
