CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving program will hit the road for the first time this season as they face Kenyon inside James A. Steen Aquatic Center at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

// SCOUTING THE OWLS
In the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III preseason poll, the women's team was picked to finish first while the men were selected second.
Last season, the Owls had a 7-2 dual meet record, which included a mark of 2-1 at home and 5-1 on the road. They scored 383 points and finished third at the NCAA Division III Championship.
When the Bearcats last saw the Owls, Cincinnati swept the meet on Jan. 13, 2023 inside Keating Aquatic Center. The men's team won, 193-106, while the women's team won, 170-130. In total, the Bearcats won 22 events throughout the meet.

Sophomore Joleigh Crye set a new pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.19. The previous record was set by Bridget Engel earlier this year (Kentucky) with a time of 1:01.55.
The men's performance was highlighted by freshman Kyle Bumgardner's first collegiate win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:03.20. Senior Drew Hawthorne also grabbed a first-place finish in the men's 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 49.85.
The Cincinnati women's team dominated against Northwestern for a 163-99 victory. Senior Jessica Davis made a splash at the first meet of the season, taking the top spot in three events: 50-yard freestyle (23.37), 100-yard freestyle (51.51) and 200-yard freestyle (1:50.33).
// NEWCOMERS MAKING A SPLASH
Grad transfer Jon Osa grabbed his first top-five finish as a Bearcat, placing second in the 100-yard backstroke (49.73) and third in the 50-yard freestyle (21.14). Osa was also a part of the second-place 200-yard medley relay team alongside Hunter Gubeno, Reed Lucero and Drew Hawthorne.
Freshman Libby Michel won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:16.34. Michel would go on to finish second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.87) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:07.42).
