Track and Field Heads to the Hoosier State for Indiana Invitational

The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program will spend its weekend in Bloomington, Ind., competing in the Indiana Invitational.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program will spend its weekend in Bloomington, Ind., competing in the Indiana Invitational.
 
The two-day invitational will be held Jan. 19-20 inside the Gladstein Fieldhouse. On Friday, events will begin at 5:00 p.m., while Saturday's action will commence at 9:00 a.m.
 
The Indiana Invitational is also the first meet this season that will have the heptathlon and pentathlon competitions UC has competed in. The Bearcats will have two athletes, Mallory Mullen and Annika Kinley, entered in the pentathlon this weekend. The complete list of accepted entries can be found above.

// ANOTHER TRIP TO INDIANA
This will mark the team's second trip to the Hoosier state this season as the Bearcats began the indoor season with the Indiana Early Bird meet in December. Last time in Bloomington, the Bearcats recorded nine all-time program top 10 marks as freshman Davenae Fagan and Jayda Bushay each recorded two of their own on the track.
 
// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati recorded nine all-time program top-10 times, and graduate student Tyler Wirth earned his first event victory of the year against top-level competition at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet.
 
Wirth won the men's 3,000m with a time of 8:06.24, just one second off his personal best. Other stand-out performances included sophomore Gwen Stare running the fourth fastest 1,000m in program history with a time of 2:53.96, and graduate student Noah Thomas, recording a new weight throw personal best of 18.89m / 61' 11.75, which moved him to fourth all-time in school history. 
 
// BEARCATS IN THE RANKINGS
Cincinnati has five athletes with marks ranked inside the top 30 in the nation in their respective event.

Juliette Laracuente-Huebner, Triple Jump- 12.47m / 40' 11" (24th)
Spirit Morgan, High Jump- 1.79m / 5' 10.5" (26th)
Annika Kinley, High Jump- 1.78m / 5' 10" (28th)
Jack Barchet, 800m- 1:51.76 (30th)
 
// UP NEXT
Cincinnati will hit the road again and head to Clemson, S.C. for the Bob Pollock Invitational. It will mark the second year in a row the team be competing at the meet.  The invitational will be held Jan. 26-27 inside Rock Norman Track and Field Complex.
