2023 Indoor AAC Conference Champion – DMR

2025-26 SEASONS
2025 XC: Missed first three meets due to injury... Finished 19th at the Angel Mounds Invitational in her season debut... Improved her time by 47 seconds at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in her return to that Evansville course, where she finished 47th... Fourth on the team at both the Big 12 Championships and Regional.

2024-25 SEASONS
2025 OTF: Competed in six meets... At the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, she clocked a personal best in the 800m (2:09.09) for a second-place finish... Notched a career best in the 1500m with a time of 4:23.31 to earn a 59th place finish... After registering a time of 2:11.49, she snagged fourth place in the 800m. 
2025 ITF: Competed in four meets… Put on a show at the Music City Challenge, she was victorious in the 800m after registering a time of 2:11.94 and ran a personal best time of 4:48.66 in the mile for an 11th place finish… At the Big 12 Championships, she brought home 12th place in the DMR thanks to a time of 11:45.39… Fourth place finish in the mile (4:51.58) at the Husker Invitational… With a time of 12:12.92 in the DMR at the Crossroads of America Invitational, she claimed fifth place.
2024 XC: Ran in six meets… Finished 11th in the 4k with a time of 14:42.7 at the Sam Bell Invitational… Ran a 20:53.3 in the 6k at the NCAA Great Lakes Region XC Championship. 

2023-24 SEASONS
2024 ITF:  Competed in five events… Placed second in the 600m at the Indiana Invitational, logging a personal best time of 1:35.49… Third place finish in the 1000m at the 2024 Rod McCraby Memorial Track & Field Meet with a personal best time of 2:53.96… Notched a career-best 4:56.00 mile at the Music City Challenge.
2024 OTF: Participated in five meets… Fourth place finish in the 800m at the 2024 Jim Click Shootout (2:14.77)… At the Clark Wood Open 2024, she finished seventh with a time of 2:13.60.
2023 XC:  Ran in five meets… Placed 61st in 6k at the Big 12 Championships with a personal best time of 21:44.0… At the RedHawk Rumble, she finished 11th in the 5k, punching in a time of 18:35.0.

2022 XC: Competed in six meets during her first season as a Bearcat… Scored points at. The AAC Championships by placing 30th overall with a time of 22:11.4… Followed that performance by placing 89th with a time of 22:05.5 in her first NCAA Great Lakes Regional… Ran her best 6k at the Bradley Pink Invitational with a time of 21:56.1… Recorded a personal best 5k time of 18:30.1 at the Live in Lou Classic.
2023 ITF: Competed in five meets during the season… Earned her first conference gold medal as part of the AAC championship DMR team that broke the UC record with a time of 11:21.95… Recorded a season-best mile time of 5:06.25 at the Music City Challenge
2023 OTF: Competed in five meets during the season… In the preliminary round of the AAC Championships, she broke the UC freshman 1500m record with a time of 4:27.60… at the Clark Wood Invitational, she recorded a personal best 2:11.53 in the 800m, the 10th fastest time in program history.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A native of Newark, Ohio, she attended Newark High School, playing basketball and running track and field all four years... As a freshman, she was an OOC champion and placed third at districts... She also set her school’s 800m record. As a junior, she won her conference championships and the district championships in the 800m. She also placed fifth in the state championships. As a senior, she won her conference's cross country meet.... On the academic side, she was a President List award winner and the Columbus Dispatch Scholar.

PERSONAL: Born Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stare on June 30, 2003...Daughter of Jeffery and Kristen Stare and is one of three siblings... She comes from a family of athletes as her father played baseball at Muskingum University and her sister Gabby is a junior on the Ohio Dominican University basketball team... During her time at UC, she plans to major in business.
