CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program collected a pair of Big 12 weekly awards, the league accounted on Wednesday.
Julie Rose (Women's Newcomer of the Week) and Kyle Bumgardner (Men's Newcomer of the Week) received weekly accolades for the Bearcats.
Rose claimed the Women's Newcomer honor for the second week in a row, following another great performance against Xavier.
Rose notched three event wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.80), 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.03) and 200-yard individual medley (2:05.17).
Bumgardner earned the first Big 12 award of his career based on his strong performance in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing first with a time of 4:38.06.
The Frederick, Md. Native has made a quick impact for Cincinnati, recording three top-ten program times this season.
