CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team wraps up their three-game home stance on Wednesday with a matchup against the Louisville Cardinals.
Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and admission is free for fans.
The Bearcats have won five straight contests, their longest streak since eight in 2019. UC has allowed only 16 goals over that stretch, which began with the program's first-ever shutout Feb. 18 at Robert Morris.
Graduate student Victoria Macres and freshman Hailey Joy Simpson earned AAC Goalkeeper of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors, respectively, following the Bearcats' back-to-back victories.
Sophomore Camryn Callaghan grabbed her second Honor Roll accolade of the season as well.
Macres now sits second in the conference for save percentage (.479) and goals against (8.05 ga/avg).
Simpson made her first career start in the Bearcats' victory over Youngstown State. She registered two goals, two points, one draw control and two shots.
Callaghan led the team with six goals versus Kent State and five against Youngstown State. She ranks first in the conference for goals per game (4.50 avg/g) and sits in the eighth spot in program history with 89 career goals.

Kent State had 10 turnovers in the first quarter, and Cincinnati led 5-1 at the first break after scoring nine goals in the opening quarter on Thursday against Youngstown State. The Golden Flashes finished with 25, eight more than their previous season-high. UC's most on defense this year was 26 against Butler.
Kylie Gioia scooped up a loose ball and rifled a goal from the left side with one second left to give Cincinnati a 9-2 lead at the half.
Macres tallied five saves before Hailey Darko relieved her late in the third quarter, up 15-2. Lauren Ottensmeyer's three goals and Ava Goeller's two rounded out the leading offensive performers. Ottensmeyer and Julie Rose each had two assists as well.

Cincinnati's only deficit was 3-2 in the first quarter. The visitors responded with a 7-2 run to lead 9-5 at the break, and the win improved them to 9-0 when holding that advantage.
Third-year UC assistant coach Jamie Redding was a First-Team All-BIG EAST honoree while helping the Cardinals to a 2014 Sweet 16 appearance, scoring 44 goals with 44 assists over her career. Avon native Grace Jenny also played her first three years for the Cardinals.

Senior attacker Kokoro Nakazawa leads the Cardinals in points with 25, alongside 18 goals and seven assists in six games.
Graduate student midfielder Nicole Perroni leads the team with 30 draw controls. She also has 18 goals, three assists and has started every game for Louisville. Perrioni was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team ahead of the start of this season.
