CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's swimming and diving sophomore Joleigh Crye will be heading back to the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships after qualifying in the 100-yard breaststroke for the second year in a row.
"I am really excited for Joleigh for qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row." Head coach Mandy Commons-Disalle said. "She is seeded extremely well and now with two years under her belt, she is poised and prepared to compete with the best in the nation and represent the Bearcats."
The NCAA Women's Championships will be held from March 20-23 inside Jack Bauerle Pool in Athens, Ga.
Crye qualified for the 100-yard breaststroke last weekend at the Big 12 Conference Championships with a time of 58.24. Her school-record time earned her the bronze medal at the conference championship meet and ranks eighth in the nation.
As a freshman last season, Crye qualified in the same event and finished 22nd overall at the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Avon, N.Y. native has been a dominant force all season for Cincinnati, breaking three school records and registering seven event wins. She is also a member of three school record-holding relay teams.
She is the first Bearcat to qualify for back-to-back championships since Jacqueline Keire did so in 2014 and 2015.
