WEST POINT, Miss. -- The Cincinnati men's golf team is down south for its final action before the Big 12 Championships as it plays the Mossy Oak Collegiate.

The two-day event begins Monday at the Mossy Oak Golf Course and features a heavy competition of Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Kansas State, Augusta, Liberty, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana, Little Rock, Troy and New Mexico State.

Competing Bearcats include Ryan Ford, Connor McNeely, Ty Gingerich, William McDonald and Rylan WotherspoonCole Imig is also there among 14 individual participants.

Ford finished third in the event last year at this course, which began with a 64 (tied for school record) followed by back-to-back 70s. Cincinnati finished eighth out of 18, with Sam Jean and Rylan Wotherspoon next in line at 38th and 45th.

McNeely has maintained the team lead on the season with a 71.50 stroke average, with Ford second at 72.49. McNeely has three top-10 finishes (led by second at the Bearcat Invitational) and one in 11th. 

Cincinnati was 10th at the Mason Rudolph Championship its last time out, posting a 17-stroke improvement in its final round. It came on the heels of 21 in the previous tournament's finale.
