Bearcats Finish Third, Gingerich Seventh at Mossy Oak

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Cincinnati men's golf team held off a late surge by No. 26 and host Mississippi State to still finish third at the Mossy Oak Collegiate.

The Bearcats fell only to No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 2 Auburn.

Ty Gingerich's seventh-place finish was his season-high, and it came after his best 36-hole score on Monday. He also had an eagle on the day.

Ryan Ford bogeyed his first two holes and then shot 6-under over the next 16 holes to manage a 4-under 68, the lowest by a Bearcat for the week. His 13th-place tie marked his third top-20 of the season.

William McDonald and Rylan Wotherspoon both tied for 35th. For McDonald, it matched his second-best finish of the year.

Cincinnati now turns its focus to the Big 12 Championships in Trinity, Texas, Monday-Wednesday.
