EUGENE, Ore. — University of Cincinnati track and field freshman Juliette Laracuente-Huebner earned Second Team All-American honors in the women's heptathlon on Saturday to close out the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Making her NCAA Outdoor Championship debut, Laracuente-Huebner broke her own heptathlon school record, scoring 5,688 points over the two-day, seven-event competition. She placed 14th overall and earned Second Team All-America honors.

Laracuente-Huebner joined juniors Dominique Hall (decathlon) and Abby Knouff (pole vault), who earned All-America honors on Thursday. It is the first time since 2017 that Cincinnati has had at least three Bearcats earn All-America honors at the outdoor championships.

After scoring 3,357 points and sitting in 18th place through the first four events on Friday, Laracuente-Huebner dazzled on Saturday, scoring 2,331 points in the last three events to reach her record point total and move up to 14th overall.

The Marengo, Ohio native started day two of the heptathlon off strong by leaping 6.09m / 19' 11.75" in the long jump to score 877 points as she placed fifth overall in the section.

She followed up that performance by recording a personal best mark of 33.93m / 111' 4"  in the javelin and added 551 points to her total.

In total, she placed inside the top 15 in five of the seven events, including finishing seventh in the 200m (24.54), fifth in the long jump and fifth in the 800m.

Laracuente-Huebner saved the best for last as she placed fifth in the 800m section with a time of 2:14.26, adding 903 points, which eclipsed the school record and secured her All-American status.

Rewriting history has been nothing new for the freshman as she is now the third Bearcat woman in program history to compete in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and the first since Jasmine Cotten did in 2012.

Laracuente-Huebner also joined Ashley Wilhelm as the only Bearcats ever to earn All-America honors in the event. Wilhelm earned second-team honors in 2007.

The freshman became the first woman in program history to earn All-American honors in both the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon in the same season. Earlier this year, she earned Second Team All-America honors in the indoor pentathlon.

Hall placed 15th overall in the men's decathlon with a score of 7,464 points to earn Second Team All-America honors. He is the first Bearcat to earn All-American status in the decathlon since current associate head coach Chris Wineberg did in 2004.

Knouff finished 15th overall in the women's pole vault as she tied her outdoor personal best, clearing a bar height of 4.30m / 14' 1.25". She earned Second Team All-America honors and became the first Bearcat woman to earn outdoor All-American status in the pole vault in school history.

Cincinnati has now had 41 different Bearcats collect 78 All-America honors since 1964, 43 of which have occurred at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
