The Bearcats move to 4-1-1 after recording their first shutout of the season. Fifth-year goalkeeper Anna Rexford secured the shutout by notching a career-high eight saves.
Cincinnati broke the first half scoring drought with a goal in the 56th minute by freshman Rylee Felton. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Week recorded her fourth straight game with a goal. She now has a team-high six on the season.
The Bearcats put their foot on the gas when fifth-year Ellie Flower nailed another goal in the 69th minute to increase UC's lead, 2-0. She has three goals this season, tying her career high.
Rexford remained poised in goal as she faced 13 total shots, the most so far this season. Butler had a clear attempt to put itself on the board but due to an offside call, the goal was ruled no good.

Freshman Rylee Felton earned Co-Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
This is Felton's first Big 12 weekly accolade of her career and the first for Cincinnati this season.
The Milford, Mich. native has had a stellar debut season, recording goals in four of the last five games for the Bearcats, including the equalizing goal against Louisville and two goals vs. Eastern Michigan.
She holds the 14th spot nationwide for goals scored and is the second highest-scoring rookie in the country. The freshman leads Cincinnati with six goals and a .600 SOG%.
