DURHAM, N.C. – Connor McNeely turned in a 2-under 142 to tie for 10th and lead the Cincinnati men's golf team through the first two rounds of the Rod Myers Invitational.
The Bearcats are in sixth, with three strokes separating them from fourth. Charlotte's 24-stroke improvement launched the 49ers from last to fifth.
McNeely had nine birdies on the marathon day. The stroke-average leader from a year ago has his best 36-hole total by seven strokes on the early season.
Ryan Ford is tied for 18th, which included four-straight birdies in the first round's front nine. He was the team leader in the first two tournaments by finishing first and 21st.
Cincinnati posted its lowest round in the finale of first two events of the season and will look to continue that trend Monday.
