DURHAM, N.C. – Connor McNeely maintained his stellar play with a 6-under 66 in Tuesday's finale to launch eight spots into second place at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational. Cincinnati finished fifth.

McNeely was 8-under for the week and had one bogey on Monday. It was his fourth top-10 finish in his year-plus with the Bearcats. All three of his scores this week were season-lows.

"Connor McNeely proved why he's a great player today and this week after an up and down start to the year," head coach Doug Martin said. "I'm very proud of his resilience, and I think he has a great year ahead of him. Ryan Ford and Michael Senn didn't do anything spectacular this week, but a third consecutive event in the Top 20 is a credit to their preparation and consistency. Up next is the Big 12 match play, where we will be tested against the best in the country. I'm looking forward to the next 10 or so days to get our team ready."

Ryan Ford finished par for each of the three rounds to tie for 16th. It follows his Bearcat Invitational title and a tie for 21st to open the season. Michael Senn III upped his game throughout the tournament too, and like Ford, he has been 21st or better in all three events so far. He also recorded the team's first eagle of the year,

UC has produced its best score in the final round of all of its tournaments to start the year on the 493-yard, No. 9 hole.

The Bearcats will look to keep this momentum through its two-week break before beginning Big 12 Match Play in Texas, Oct. 7-9.
