LOUDON, Tenn. – Ryan Ford's 1-under 69 paced the Cincinnati men's golf team over its first 18 holes of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate on Friday.

"We really did some great things through the first 12 holes," head coach Doug Martin said. "We were -7 and all five guys were in the game. Holes 14-18 is a very difficult stretch of golf that we didn't handle very well today. I feel good about where we are this early in the season. Time for a good one tomorrow."

Cincinnati is tied for seventh with Mississippi State and North Florida.

Dating back to last year, Ford is 3-under over his last three opening rounds. He birdied five out of seven holes in the middle of the day.

Cole Imig posted his best score as a Bearcat, carding an even-70. He appeared in three tournaments last year for UC after spending his 2022-23 freshman season at UAB.

Connor McNeely and Rylan Wotherspoon were one and two over par, respectively. Freshman Leo Wessel was four-over.
