CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's soccer program battled to a draw, 0-0, with Colorado on Thursday inside Gettler Stadium.
The Bearcats (6-7-3, 2-5-2) secured their third shutout of the season, with two occurring in Big 12 play. Meanwhile, the Buffaloes (10-2-4, 4-1-4) faced their second consecutive scoreless outing.
Cincinnati was led by fifth year goalkeeper Anna Rexford who made her 80th consecutive career start and recorded her 18th career shutout. She tallied seven saves and faced a season-high 18 shots.
In the first half, both teams maintained balanced possession, with Cincinnati taking four shots compared to Colorado's six. After halftime, the Buffaloes intensified their offensive efforts, firing off 12 shots, but Rexford remained steady, preserving the clean sheet.
Fifth year Lauren Bastian was able to record three shots alongside fifth year Ellie Flower and junior Megan Smith each contributed two.
Cincinnati remains home as the welcome No. 24-ranked Texas Tech for Senior & Alumni Day on Sunday at 1 p.m. Seven seniors will be honored including Payton Hasse, Laura Zemberyova, Brooke Brown, Fran Stables, Iris Schuh, Emma Schmelzer and Paige Miller.
