Track and Field Begins Indoor Season with Indiana Early Bird

The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program heads to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in its 2024-25 indoor season-opening meet with the Indiana Early Bird Meet on Friday.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program heads to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in its 2024-25 indoor season-opening meet with the Indiana Early Bird Meet on Friday. 
 
The Indiana Early Bird Meet will be held inside the Gladstein Fieldhouse. Field events will begin at 3 p.m., while track events will start at 4:05 p.m. Fans can follow along with all the action inside the Gladstein Fieldhouse via live results found HERE.
 
A total of 12 other teams will participate: Butler, Evansville, Indiana, Indiana Kokomo, IU-Indy, Marian, Pikeville, Saint Louis, SE Missouri, St. Francis, St. Norbert and Wingate.
 
A total of 32 student-athletes will be making the trip to Indiana. Notable returners competing for the men on Friday include graduate student Naquille Harris, a 2024 Olympian and 60m dash record holder, sophomore Oliver Mayer and graduate student Korbin Spencer. All three played crucial roles in the Bearcats' first season in the Big 12.  
 
On the women's side, 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifiers junior Abby Knouff and sophomore Juliette Laracuente-Huebner will look to pick back up right where they left off last season. Sophomore Davenae Fagan, a team USA World Athletics U20 Championships participant looks to build on her success from last season.
 
In total, 10 newcomers will be making their Bearcat debut on Friday. Highlighting the group are graduate transfers Orry Willems (throws), Kayla Goodwin (multis), Hannah Blood (throws) and Astley Davis (jumps), as well as junior sprinter Kya Epps.
 
Friday will be the first of two trips to Indiana as the Bearcats will return for the Crossroads of America Invitational on Jan. 24-25.
