BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program recorded three new program records, five UC all-time top 10 marks, eight personal bests and nine event victories on Friday at the Indiana Early Bird Meet inside the Gladstein Fieldhouse.
In her Cincinnati debut, junior Kya Epps didn't take long to make history, as she broke Cincinnati's 60m dash record, clocking a time of 7.27. Epps took first place in the event. The Salem, Ohio native also got first place in the 200m, registering a time of 24.03, which is good for seventh all-time.
Graduate student Naquille Harris (sprints) and senior Abby Knouff (pole vault) both broke their own school records.
Harris secured first place in the men's 60m dash, as he ran a blistering 6.65. The Bronx, N.Y., native previously held the school record with a time of 6.70.
Knouff earned the top spot in the pole vault, after she launched herself 4.35m over the bar. Knouff previously boasted the school record at 4.32m.
Sophomore Davenae Fagan placed first in the 300m. Fagan ran the second fastest time in UC history after running a 38.32.
Freshman Matthew Rusch finished third in the shot put with a throw of 17.06m, setting Cincinnati's freshman record.
Two other Bearcats showed out in their UC debuts – graduate students Orry Willems (throws) and Hannah Blood (throws), who both engraved their names into the Cincinnati record book.
Willems captured third place in the weight throw with an 18.54m toss, placing him ninth all-time.
Blood, a native of Glossop, United Kingdom, claimed second place in the weight throw with a hurl of 17.91m, placing her eighth all-time.
Graduate student Justin Abrams (jumps), junior Claire Curtsinger (distance) and Juliette Laracuente-Huebner (mulltis) all seized first place in their respective events.
Along with notching first place in the long jump, Abrams put his name into the record book. The Colerain Township, Ohio native leaped 7.44m to carve himself in at sixth all-time. Abrams also got first in the high jump, as he sprung 2.03m off the ground.
Laracuente-Huebner took first place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.71, while Curtsinger recorded a time of 9:48.45 in the 3000m, claiming first place.
The Bearcats were also victorious in the 4x400m relay. Freshman Morgan Komolafe along with Fagan, Epps and Laracuente-Huebner ran a 3:47.33.

The Bearcats will pause for the rest of the month for winter break, but will resume action in January to compete at the Rod McCravy Invitational in Louisville, Ky. The meet will be held Jan. 10-11.
