KENT, Ohio -- Camryn Callaghan scored a season-high six goals, freshman Paige Selhorn collected a career-high five assists, and the Cincinnati lacrosse team left no doubt in a 15-4 win at Kent State on Sunday.

The Bearcats improved to 7-0 against the Golden Flashes, including a 16-4 win in Nippert Stadium last year.

Goalkeeper Hailey Darko had four saves against three goals allowed before freshman Bella Kerr took over in the cage for the fourth, her second appearance of the year.

Kent State struck first, but the Bearcats grabbed a 2-1 lead by the end of the quarter. Lauren Ottensmeyer, first in the Big 12 for shots per game, scored in the first 31 seconds of the second quarter, but the Bearcats would strike even quicker than that later. Ottensmeyer found the back of the net at 3:51, and after Hailey Joy Simpson controlled the draw, Selhorn scored eight seconds later.

Cincinnati had a 36-12 shot advantage (its largest separation of the season) and forced five failed clears out of 20 for Kent State.

The Bearcats are back in action Wednesday night to host crosstown rival Xavier at 6 p.m.
