CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati men's golf team is back down south for its third-straight season playing at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island along the Georgia coast, taking place Monday and Tuesday.
The Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island saw the Bearcats finish sixth last year and second in 2023. Cincinnati also boasts a 34-23 record this season and is No. 67 nationally.
This will also be Cincinnati's fourth-straight tournament with a 36-hole day. The field includes Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Kansas, Marquette, Memphis, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Princeton, Rutgers, UNC Greensboro and West Virginia.
Ryan Ford, Connor McNeely, Michael Senn III, William McDonald and Leo Wessel are on the scorecard this week, with Cole Imig competing individually. Ford and McDonald are seeing this event for the third time as well.
McDonald is coming off an outstanding eighth-place finish at the Colleton River Collegiate, which included his first-career hole-in-one. He improved from a 77 to a 72 and 69 in the finale. Ford still leads the team with a 71.42 stroke average.
Wessel is making his first appearance on the team's main scorecard since the season-opening Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The freshman finished that event with a still-season low 71 and then saw action in the Bearcat Invitational right after that.
