// ALL–AMERICAN BEARCATS
At the NCAA Indoor National Championships held in the Virginia Beach Sports Center, the Bearcats achieved a notable milestone by securing four All-America honors. This performance matches their successful showing from 2021, when the team also claimed four Indoor All-America recognitions.
University of Cincinnati graduate students Fred Moudani-Likibi, Justin Abrams and Astley Davis all collected First Team All-America honors, while senior Abby Kounff took home Second Team All-America.
Moudani-Likibi secured First Team All-America honors in the shot put after a throw of 19.63m, claiming sixth place. The Savigny-Le-Temple, France native stands alone as the program's sole indoor shot put All-American, achieving the honor for the second time. His prior First Team All-America performance resulted in a sixth-place finish in 2023.
Abrams became the first indoor heptathlon First Team All-American in school history. He racked up 5799 points to end in eighth place. He is the third Bearcats to collect First Team All-America accolades in the event, joining Damien Berthenet in 2020 and Alex Bloom in 2018.
The Colerain Township native was great in the final three events on the final day. Abrams took the crown in the pole vault with a personal best mark of 5.27m, earning 944 points. In the 60m hurdles, he received 927 points after running an 8.22 time, coming in ninth. Abrams notched 11th place in the 1000m for 803 points, after a run of 2.50.28.
Abrams entered the final day of the Heptathlon in 12th place.
Davis received Second Team All-America honors after soaring 15.50m in the triple jump, earning 14th place. Earlier in the season, the Kingston, Jamaica native made Cincinnati history by bringing home the program's first ever conference triple jump championship, recording an impressive jump of 15.79m at the Big 12 Conference Championships in Lubbock, Texas.
With these achievements, Davis continues to etch his name into UC history becoming the second triple jump indoor All-American in school history. Bearcat Hall of Famer Al Lainer did it in 1972 when he placed third nationally.
Knouff placed 11th in the pole vault after achieving a mark of 4.25m, earning Second Team All-America honors. The Tallmadge, Ohio native is the third pole vault All-American in program history. Adrian Valles achieved All-America status six times and Mackenzie Fields did it in 2013. This is Knouff's second time being named a Second Team All-American. She previously earned the honor during the 2024 outdoor season.
Abrams ended the first day on the Heptathlon sitting in 12th place, totaling 3115 Points, with the 60m Hurdle, Pole Vault and 1000m remaining for the second day of competition.
