BLUFFTON, S.C. — Cincinnati senior William McDonald earned his third-career top-10 finish, with the help of a hole-in-one on the 232-yard, 17th hole, to highlight the Bearcats' spring debut at the Colleton River Collegiate.

It is the first ace by a UC men's golfer since Clay Amlung on March 18, 2022 at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. McDonald finished eighth in this week's event, his best of the season. His other top-10s came in each of his previous two years. His 3-under 69 in Monday's finale gave him a 2-over for the weekend.

Ryan Ford was 1-over on the day and finished 31st at 8-over. Michael Senn III and Connor McNeely followed at Nos. 42 and 70.

Cincinnati finished ninth, only five strokes out of the top-five. As with its entire fall slate, it saved its best round for last with a 4-over. It was 26-over combined through Sunday's 36 holes.

"Overall, I'm not satisfied with our performance this week," head coach Doug Martin said. "I thought we fought very hard today and managed to play a pretty solid round of golf. The first 36, I felt we were exposed to some things that we weren't prepared for, especially short game shots and execution. This is also our first event since early October. It took us some time to shake off the competitive rust."

The Bearcats will come home and return south again in two weeks for The Johnnie-O, hosted by Rutgers, in Sea Island, Ga.
