BLUFFTON, S.C. -- William McDonald's even-72 in the nightcap served as Cincinnati's top score of its 36-hole day at the Colleton River Collegiate, its official spring debut. Cincinnati is tied for 12th heading into Monday's finale.
"I was very disappointed with today's performance," head coach Doug Martin said. "I really thought we were ready to play this week. We made too many careless mistakes on and around the greens. This is a long spring season and we have a lot of golf ahead of us. Time to bounce back tomorrow."
Two bogeys towards the end of Rylan Wotherspoon's first round had him at a 73, UC's best of the morning.
The Bearcats, however, have saved their best round for last in all three of its prior tournaments. They are only three strokes out of the top-10.
