BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Cincinnati track and field team kicked off its indoor season with freshman Ade Lloyd claiming the 300m record (32.93) among two event victories and two new top-10 record book entries at the Indiana Early Bird Invitaitonal.
Lloyd, out of the Philadelphia area, last week broke the Red and Black intrasquad record in the 600-yard (1:12.0). Camden Beatty's 1:20.51 mark in the 600-meter also put him in sixth for that category.
Renee Raglin, back in the saddle after only competing in outdoor last year, captured the women's long jump crown (5.84m).
Ethan Long, last year's Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and Indoor MVP, earned two PRs: the 60m at 6.76 and 300m at 34.18. The latter is fifth in school history. John Apel, a freshman from Pataskala, ran a 34.39 to rank eighth at UC.
Davenae Fagan was second in the 300-meter, finishing just one-hundredth of a second of her PR. That mark is third in the program's history.
Robert Hart and Oluwatosin Ayodeji were each second and third, respectively, in the long jump. Freshman Tierra Cullivan was second in the pole vault (4.05m).
UC freshmen making their collegiate debuts included Cullivan, Peyton Cherry, Mirabelle Thornton, Amerie Tolbert, DaShayla Wordlaw, John Apel, Ade Lloyd, Miller Mabury and Charlie Riddle.
Cincinnati next competes at the Rod McCravy Invitational in Louisville, Ky., from Jan. 9-10.
