CINCINNATI – Cincinnati redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl was named an All-American by the Associated Press on Monday.

Tengesdahl received third-team honors from the AP, his first career All-America recognition.

The Dayton native has already earned All-Big 12 distinctions from the league’s head coaches, AP, and PFF this season. He is just the fifth offensive lineman in school history to earn All-America honors, joining Luke Kandra (2023-24), Parker Ehinger (2012), Trevor Canfield (2008), and Bill Shalosky (1952).

Tengesdahl is one of just two Big 12 offensive linemen to earn All-America honors from the AP, with Utah’s Spencer Fano being the other.

Tengesdahl has started all 12 games at left guard this season, his first as a primary starter at the collegiate level. The redshirt sophomore’s play helped make Cincinnati’s offensive line one of the best in the country. UC ranks second nationally in fewest sacks allowed (seven) and ranks third in fewest TFL allowed (39). Cincinnati’s offense leads the Big 12 in yards per play (7.13) and yards per carry (5.90), ranking sixth and second in the nation, respectively. Tengesdahl helped lead an offensive line that was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Joe Moore Award.
