CINCINNATI – Cincinnati head football coach Scott Satterfield and general manager Zach Grant have announced Nick Lamattina as the program’s new Director of Player Personnel.
Lamattina previously spent the 2022-25 seasons on staff at WKU. He began working for the Hilltoppers as a student in February 2021 under Grant, eventually moving up to a recruiting analyst before being promoted to Assistant Director of Player Personnel and finally Director of Recruiting in April 2024.
"We are thrilled to have Nick join our personnel department," Grant said. "He brings valuable experience from Western Kentucky, a program that is one of only two Group of Six programs to win eight or more games each year since 2021, despite recurring roster turnover. Nick brings a strong evaluation skill set and a diverse background in personnel and recruiting that will enhance our staff."
His roles included heavy involvement in the high school, junior college and four-year transfer evaluation process while helping plan official visits. One of his career highlights included taking part in WKU’s addition of Austin Reed, a transfer from West Florida who would lead the nation in passing in 2022. The Hilltoppers also produced a top 100 NFL Draft pick in each of Lamattina’s four seasons there.
WKU has won eight or more games in each of the past five years with a 3-1 bowl record.
Lamattina earned his degree in finance from WKU in May 2022 with a certificate in business data analytics.
