INDIANAPOLIS -- Cincinnati Football Assistant General Manager AJ Wessel collected the Power 4 Pro Liaison of the Year award from Inside The League in their annual BART Award recognition last week at NFL Scouting Combine.
As UC's pro liaison, Wessel coordinates the campus visits with all NFL scouts and personnel executives for the program. In 2026, the Bearcats hosted visits from more than 200 NFL scouts and decision-makers from all 32 teams. The award recognizes Wessel's effort to create the more professional, efficient and worthwhile visit for NFL teams as they scout current Bearcats.
The next big event is Pro Day on Tuesday, March 24, where Cincinnati is expected to host more than 70 scouts, directors, coaches and general managers from the NFL.
Per College2Pro.com, "the BART Award is named in honor of former Los Angeles Rams scout Danton Barto, who passed in 2021. It is voted on exclusively by NFL scouts and personnel departments, not by media or the casual observer. It is a mark of peer recognition, a currency more valuable than headlines or social media mentions. "
