BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Cincinnati men’s golf team tied for eighth to open its spring season Monday at the Colleton River Collegiate at the Dye Course at Colleton River Club. The Bearcats posted a 4-over team score in the final round Monday to finish 6-over for the tournament.
Kentucky won the event at 11-under, followed up Ohio State a stroke back and Memphis and Minnesota in a tie for third at 4-under.
Senior Ryan Ford carded a 1-over-par 73 to tie for 19th at even-par for the tournament, while freshman Brayden Miller led the team with an even-par 72 Monday to earn a career-best tie for 28th at 1-over for the event.
Senior Connor McNeely tied for 33rd at 2-over after a 2-over 74 in the final round, while fellow senior Rylan Wotherspoon posted a 1-over 73 to tie for 48th at 5-over. Sophomore Leo Wessel rounded out the Bearcats lineup with in 68th at 9-over for the tournament.
Connor Cassano, playing as an individual, tied for 69th a stroke back of Wessel.
As a team, the Bearcats ranked second in the 15-team field in par-3 scoring at 6-over, while tallying three eagles, tied for third most in the field. Individually, Miller led the field in par-3 scoring at 5-under.
Cincinnati returns to the course March 9-10 at The Johnnie-O at the Plantation Course at Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Ga.
