CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati men’s golf team travels south for its last tournament before postseason play when it tees it up at the Mossy Oak Collegiate starting Monday at Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point, Miss. A shotgun start gets 36 holes of play underway at 9 a.m. ET Monday before Tuesday tee times starting at 9 a.m.

Cincinnati’s lineup will consist of Ryan Ford, Leo Wessel, Brayden Miller, Connor McNeely and Connor Cassano with Rylan Wotherspoon participating as an individual.

The tournament is the last of five spring tournaments for the Bearcats before the Big 12 Championship April 27-29 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. Cincinnati placed in the top five in four of its five fall tournaments, including a victory at the Bearcat Invitational Sept. 16. This spring the Bearcats have recorded a tie for eighth March 2 at the Colleton River Collegiate, a tie for seventh March 10 at The Johnnie-O, a sixth-place standing at the Oregon Duck Invitational March 24 and a tie for 14th in a 30-team field at The Goodwin March 28.

NOTEWORTHY

Tournament History: The Bearcats have competed in Mississippi State’s home tournament for the last three years, finishing third three years ago and eighth in 2024 at Mossy Oak Golf Club. While Mossy Oak was undergoing renovations a year ago, the tournament moved to Old Waverly Golf Club, where the Bearcats placed seventh, led by Ryan Ford, who finished tied for 23rd. 

The Course: Mossy Oak Golf Club, a par-72 playing at 7,212 yards, opened in 2016 and was designed by Gil Hanse. The layout is routed across rolling pastureland, featuring fewer than 20 trees and more than 100 bunkers.

The Field: Along with Cincinnati, the 19-team field includes host Mississippi State, Alabama, Coastal Carolina, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, North Texas, Ole Miss, Rice, Sam Houston, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, ULM, UTEP and Vanderbilt.

BEARCATS IN 2025-26
With one regular-season tournament to play, senior Ryan Ford leads the Bearcats with a 69.96 scoring average and four top-10 finishes, while sophomore Leo Wessel sits second with a 71.35 average and three top-10s. Senior Connor McNeely also has participated in all nine events with a 72.73 average. Senior Rylan Wotherspoon and freshman Brayden Miller have played in all but one event, notching a 72.87 and 71.92 scoring average, respectively.

Ford has played 14 of his 26 rounds under par, while four of Miller’s last nine have been played under par.

FORD CLIMBING UP PGA TOUR U RANKINGS
Ryan Ford has moved to 47th in the latest PGA TOUR University rankings released April 8.

In partnership with the World Amateur Golf Ranking, PGA TOUR University ranks players based on the last two years of their collegiate careers. Eligible Tournaments include NCAA Division I men’s team competitions, official PGA TOUR tournaments and select DP World Tour events. The ranking period for the Class of 2026 began Week 23/2024 and concludes June 1, 2026, following the final round of stroke play at the NCAA D-I Men’s National Championship. At the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA D-I Men’s National Championship, the top 25 eligible players in the final PGA TOUR University Ranking will earn status on the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour, or PGA TOUR Americas.

CINCINNATI RUNS AWAY WITH BEARCAT INVITATIONAL
Three Bearcats finished in the top 10 and Cincinnati tallied three-consecutive rounds at 6-under par en route to an 11-stroke victory over an 18-team field at the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club Sept. 16.

The host Bearcats, who won the event for the second time in four years, were paced by McNeely and Wessel, who tied for sixth at 4-under, and Ford, who finished a stroke back in a tie for ninth. All five Bearcats finished in the top 14 of the event.
