CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati opened with five-straight hits, beginning with Ryan Tyranski's leadoff homer to right field, and never looked back in a seven-inning, 15-5 win over crosstown rival Xavier on Tuesday night.

The 2,042 in attendance on an 81-degree night marked the eighth-largest in program history. Each of the first six batters in Cincinnati's lineup recorded two hits apiece.

The Bearcats led 5-0 before Xavier broke up the no-hitter with four runs in the top of the fourth. Cincinnati rebounded with a two-out RBI double and single in the bottom half, followed by a Tyranski triple in the fifth to lead 8-4.

The sixth-inning stage was set for Quinton Coats with the bases loaded, and he drove his 22nd homer to the right of the batter's eye for a 431-foot grand slam. Two batters later, Jack Natili went deep for the 10th time of the season, marking a six-run frame and 14-4 lead. Coats is now in sole possession of second in program history, trailing only Mike Spina's 23 in 2009.

Xavier scratched a run in the top of the seventh to temporarily extend the game, but freshman star catcher/designated hitter Enzo Infelise sent everyone home with a first-pitch homer down the left field line.

Reliever Adam Buczkowski, UC's leader in appearances with 17, threw a season-high 3 1/3 shutout innings while allowing only one hit for the win. Dillon Schueler started with 2 2/3 hitless frames.

Jackson Smith moved into third in school history with his 20th hit-by-pitch.

Cincinnati (25-14) now prepares for a three-game road series at UCF on Friday.
